Who is Martha Deborah Hall?

A poet residing in Amherst, New Hampshire, Martha Deborah Hall has published over 350 poems in her career and continues to pursue writing as a big part of her life. You can expect on-going additions to her list of publications.

 

Martha Deborah Hall’s poems appear in numerous national journals including, Bellowing Ark, Common Ground Review, Las Cruces, Old Red Kimono, Tale Spinners, Tapestries, The Poet’s Touchstone and Watch The Eye.  She is the winner of the 2005 John and Miriam Morris Chapbook contest for her collection Abandoned Gardens.  She was a semi-finalist in the 2007 Concrete Wolf Chapbook contest.

Books: Hall released Two Grains in Time and My Side of the Street in 2009, published with Plain View Press.  Inside Out, published by Plain View Press in 2011.

Chapbooks: Published chapbooks are Abandoned Gardens, published by The Alabama State Poetry Society, and The Garbo Reels, published by Pudding House Press.

Background: Hall is a member of the Academy of American Poets and The Poetry Society of New Hampshire. In 2009, she was honored by the New Hampshire Poet Laureate as one of New Hampshire’s featured poets.

Hall is a past President of the Amherst Junior Women’s Club, was the Amherst Chairman for Ronald Reagan’s bid for the presidency and was Communications Director for Alexander Haig when he ran. Hall holds degrees from Ohio Wesleyan and Columbia University and is currently a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker in Amherst, New Hampshire.
